Problems with endangered species are always quite complicate. As most people know an animal can be endangered in part, or most of it's range and still be overpopulated or a problem in the remaining part. I got the impression that in Java and various other parts of Malaysia Indonesia Tigers and Leopards are a real problem. I have an acquaintance in Seattle that, I believe, was taken on and killed a Snow Leopard about 5 years ago in India. He has a friend who is a Maharajah and some marvelous pictures of his friends 'Hunting Lodge'. Pictures of tracks, a tour, complete with gun-bearers, a ground blind and a live Leopard on a tied up Goat. No Trophy pics but an enigmatic smile when asked if he shot it. They are beautiful animals. Perhaps tempting beyond refusal. ![]() |
