Iqbal, good note. If you've not read it yet, pick up a copy of Galen Rowan's "Mountains of the Middle Kingdom". Super pictorals and it touches on some of the border areas you've described. Lot's of talk on wildlife and the lack of it. The rest is good reading for those who are fascinated with the outdoors. What some of these guys accomplished in the "old days" is amazing.
