Thank you Larcher. Funny how they can "discover" a new species of Leopard in 2007. In 2010 I saw a black one, similar size to this, maybe a little bigger, near the central Kalimantan border in East Kalimantan (Indonesian Borneo). The locals call them panther or simply cat. I have travelled quite a bit there and Central Borneo. Dyaks know all about these. Townsfolk not so much! I saw it on a logging trail in the mountains, at 10am. Never even thought to lift my camera off my lap and take a photograph. I had stayed in the house of one of our Dyak guides the night before. Lots of Rusa Deer antlers on the walls! Cheers, Chris |
