In India, tigers are very rare and there hasn't been a maneating tiger in many years though there have been maneating leopards. Strangely, the USA has more tigers in zoos and private collections than the rest of the world put together. The animal has almost been completely destroyed along it's natural habitat due to pressure for animal organs from the Chinese and Japanese and it may become extinct in the wild soon. Love hunting as I do, I would not shoot a tiger unless it was a maneater and then, again, that previlege in India, at least, is given only to experienced shikaris. By the time these old gentlemen leave us, the tiger would probably be gone as well. Sad, incredibly sad! |
