Does this whole thing sound fishy to anyone except me? I have never heard of a land animal eating anything as large as a human being alive unless it was thoroughly incapacitated beforehand. Why would an animal which could kill or incapcitate a human with one swipe of its paw not do so in such a situation?

Moreover, I find it hard to believe that anyone being eaten could utter anything coherent, or anything at all except screams.
