Re: Ibex hunt in Kyrgyzstan

I have used the RWS cone-point bullets for a while in my 6.5x65, as they were they only commercially available load for that caliber. However, I found them to be very inconsistent on game, sometimes they work well, sometimes it made even roe-buck run for long distances with a perfect shot. I have therefore switched over to loads with Berger bullets for long-range applications (www.bergerbullets.com). If you reload, you will love them, they are very accurate, wind-resistent, and retain a lot of energy at extended ranges because of their high ballistic coefficient. They also kill like a lightning-strike. I used Berger 210 grain Bullets launched a 3000 f/s from my .300 WM to bag a very nice Alpine Ibex a while ago. Dropped him as felled by an axe while walking a ravine at about 300 yards distance.
