No I mean there is little scientific data on all Bubalus bubalis . The 'arnee' you mention is a good example because some places call it Bubalus arnee which is totally incorrect as it is not a separate species but rather Bubalus bubalis arnee - a subspecies. Modern-day taxonomy is very difficult to follow anyhow - with different sub-species being given separate species status, even though they freely interbreed. I cant follow it?? |
