Most meat harvested, whether for animal or human cnsumption gets dropped off at Chillers located in locations, normally on the edges of Country towns. Harvested by Pro Shooters or weekend hunters, either with Dogs or Rifles. VERY Strict guidelines have to be ahered to for carrying the carcasses to the chiller, how it is dressed etc etc. No back yard, throw it in the back of a ute tray jobs are allowed. Pig Meat I know goes to Germany / Europe. Horses used to be shot in situ, with a Mobile Chiller Truck taken to the sight. I have shot Buffalo for the Pet Meat trade and the bloke had a Mobile Chiller Truck that he hung the meat until ready to go back to the processor. That much I know, I'll leave ore detailed info to others. |
