Personally-- I would use a very good quality soft followed by solids--my reasoning is after the first shot, if he does not go down, and he is running away or heading straight for you, you can drive a solid and probably be more effective based on those situations.. This is the consensus when hunting bigger buffalo so it should certainly work on these guys..
