There are two types of permits for shooting kangaroos in WA. Farmers can get aprovals to shoot x number of roo's if they are causing damage which sounds similar to the SA system. These approvals are assessed on a case by case basis. I'm not 100% sure but I think roos shot under these permits must be left where they fall.

The other type of approval is for approved shooters. They can buy tags to shoot roos within areas there is an open season. These roos can be transported to processing facilities for pet meat etc... The shooters must do a course on meat hygiene and pass an accuracy test. Vehicles must also be given a tick by the Health Dept.
