hamerz One of the hardest thing about hunting is the search for access to private land. Unfortunately there are usually only a few ways to go about it: * doing the door knocking thing, and maybe you will find a landowner who will give you a try. But having a mutual contact in common really helps. One must also keep ones ears open to find tips where a property can be found. But going to a property a mate takes you too, is one reason most 'mates' never take anyone to their choice properties. * paying for access if you can find someone who will let people on on that basis. But often landowners will good access and good game populations who want to make a buck from it will use an outfitter whom they deal and whom is responsible for the guys they bring on. So using an outfitter is often the only way. The "hire-by-the-day" type properties often seem to have low levels of game * a good current way to get some hunting is on public land via the new NSW initiatives which have opened a great many public properties to shooters to shoot feral game. Not being from NSW I am unsure of how these work. You may know all this already of course, but good luck in your search. |
