Mr Duc We did our shooting with a variety of rifles and calibres. I shot all my pigs with my Whitworth .375. Orion shot some with his Blaser .375 and some with the Weatherby 7mm STW. None of he pigs were large. Even the largest boar was only averaged sized but I still enjoyed shooting him. The sows and younger animals were all the average Southern pig size, especially for a place where they have been getting a hammering from lots of hunters. You have to remember last year was the end of a very bad drought and pig numbers were greatly down right through NSW. We were lucky to get and see as many as we did plus also in part to some skill and thinking were they might be. The title photo has two little piglets which were shot by either a .375 or a 7mm. It was designed as a joke as opposed to the title of "Big Bore Boar Hunt". Note the Big applies to the Bore, doesn't it. ![]() |
