This sounds like very good news for duck-hunters in southern states, and will help keep the wolf from our door here in the Northern Territory as well. Our wildlife managers have been under increasing political pressure to restrict the NT season in line with southern states. Also, the closing of wetlands with low water levels, and protecting blue-wing shovellers when their numbers are low, while opening up the bag for woodies which are in plague proportions, shows sound management practice and should be strongly supported by all shooters. ...and a 5-month season for quail at 25 birds per day! Bloody good news in fact! |
