Re: Hunting and flyfishing in Aus

Alf

Welcome to NitroExpress.com.

October is of course mid-spring in the Southern Hemisphere and lovely weather in the South. About my favourite month with warm sunny days and cool to cold nights.

Most of the European deer species will be casting their antlers - reds and fallow. I would give chital in Northern Queensland a try. Sambar would available.

The tropics will be warming up and getting more humid. But water buffalo in the NT would also be a definite target.

Of course ferals such as pigs and goats are always in season.

Sorry my fishing knowledge is sadly lacking. Not sure about the best seasons but barramundi in the NT is fantastic to fish and if hunting sambar in the Vic Alps a fly fishing rod wouldn't go astray.
