The hunting of kangaroos for personal use is permitted in Queensland

Keep hearing that, but no one knows how!

When I lived in Queensland many years ago I simply walked into the QNPWS offices in Townsville each year and paid ten bucks for my 'Open Season Fauna Permit- Kangaroos'. Cost another ten bucks for the 20 tags.

The first time I asked what the open season was, the ranger cracked a wry smile and said "First of January to thirty-first of December, mate!"
