Re: A Northern Territory Safari

We were further upstream, just over an hour east of Mataranka along the Roper Bar road, then turn left, so a fair distance from the Bar, camped on the opposite side of the wetlands to the River - it was about 20 minutes away in the car. Plenty of (T)uffalo about, a lot with good horns. Thing that amazed me was the amount of bloody cane toads about. I knew they had managed to get up as far as Kakadu so was expecting to see a few but they are thicker there than here at home (Qld). It is going to devastate the native wildlife up there - a real shame as it is hard enough for the little critters to survive there as it is.

If I can get back next year I will be there for sure.
