Barra just love large flies though. 2/0 to 4/0 Pink Things and Gustos are actually specialist barra flies!
Caught all my large fish on fly this past 10 or 15 years.

I would happily put my trust in the flyrod over the plug-caster for a one-day McNab, although I suspect pre-caught live bait would strengthen the odds somewhat.
