No they are protected. One latched onto my Mums leg (she's up here visiting)and scratched her. She's now on a course of injections for the Lyssavirus, which rabies is are part of. Not nice. The bloody things are shitting over my car,boat,house and ME!!! Give me a brick of sub-sonic .22 and I'll plink away all day!
