Agree 100 percent. No better trophy than a broken, scarred up animal.
Those Queensland reds were protected until into the early 90s and you had to get a permit to hunt them. I remember being on the ADA executive and fighting the removal of their protection. We thought they would get wiped out. May have miscalculated there. Those first Reds were released on Cresbrook Station, probably near where you were.
