If anybody is interested in Hunting Sambar free range, get hold of me and I will give you his email address. His rates are $2500 trophy fee plus daily rate. He was charging a 350 dollar daily rate and that is because where you staying was charging him that much a day. He is looking for a new place for huntersto stay at a cheaper rate. He can also arrange for you to hunt Sika and Fallow at a Safari Park (that's what they are called in New Zealand). He only takes 6 Sambar a year off the properties he aquired. I can assure it is free range not some fenced in area. I talked to several people while I was there and they said he is the top Sambar guide in New Zealand. While I was there several hunters came by and were trying to find out where he was hunting.
