404 jeffery hinde

Break in crappy weather so couldn't wait to get out. Local spot and lots of sign.Put up a stag on a face and didn't even look like getting a shot at him. just about back to the car and a big movement in the caprosma in front of me. Three steps left and a hinde and yearling broke into the open and headed to the next patch of caprosma.

instinctive shot at the hinde and pretty sure of a hit! Radio call from Mitch straight away. Answered and said ill meet you on the track.

Picked up tracks and blood , Mitch caught up and we followed the sign into the thick crap. !00m in just on dark we bumped her. Decided to come back in the morning.

Early start and no luck where we thought she would be. Followed blood and tracks with. the Weis doing their bit. Mitch picked up a track in the open and we followed the sign into more thick stuff.

Weis were interested in something about twenty metres to my right and I spotted the hinde. relieved we had found her.

Pretty messy as over night a dingo had eaten one side of her face , ear and belly .

Photos pretty ordinary, took a fair amount of meat for the dogs.

Shot with 404 jeffery and 350. RNSP. Hit in. front of hip raking forward, taking out liver.

Effort to recover was worth it.

Here's some pics, cheers Mick
