Re: "Traditions of Yesteryear", Stockwell Hunt Club, Barossa

The old Stockwell Hunt Club used to shoot fro some 80 or so years. My Great Grand Father, my Grand Father and my Uncle used to attend the King's Birthday shoots. And I suppose the last ones for a decade were the Queen's Birthday Shoots. My father never used to go, told to stay home and work.

A few years ago we resurrected it. Only a clay target shoot once a year, and a dinner afterwards in Stockwell. And the clay target shoot is only a shoot in a quarry with simple clays thrown. I shoot way too badly however.

It would great to see a simulated field clay shoot instead. And even more so, a game shoot of some sort.

Most of the members of the SHC also shoot at the driven fox shoots, which unfortunately are during grape vintage in March every weekend. I got to the last one this year. About 50 foxes shot. The shoot is a line of shooters walking through the fields and hills shooting foxes as they walk. A blocking line of shooters is positioned at the far end of the walk.
