Karl, Gunlaws here in Alaska only require that you have a background check at the time of purchase. That's a federal issue. We have a state concealed handgun carry law that required a permit, but, in Sept. I believe, any Alaskan citizen will be allowed concealed carry of a handgun without a permit. That bill was just signed a few weeks ago by our governor and our legislature was almost unanimous in passing the bill. Hell, everybody hunts or shoots up here. As someone once told me on my first visit to Alaska, "There's always room for one more good person in Alaska".
