I believe that the Asian Red Buffalo that you are refering to is the Banteng which is slightly smaller than the Asiatic Water Buffalo and less widespread. Whether they are more agressive I cannot say but having hunted the Water Buffalo you wouldn't want to piss one off or go in under-gunned.

Both species are huntable in the Northern Territory for a price with the Banteng being more expensive due to their limited distribution which has been limited to the Coburg Peninsular in the NT.
