Club Hunt

The local Big Game Rifle Club had organized a foray in the Back Country Hunting block at Litchfield Park a week ago.
It was an outstanding 'social' success judging by the empties scattered around the fire-pit each morning, and everyone who hunted got something, so a great weekend all round!

However it was bloody hot down there and most of the better creek-lines have been walked already by other hunters.
The quarry was understandably wary, usually alerted by the wind direction invariably changing to 'straight up the arse' when closing on game!

Steve won the tin of powder donated by F&OW for the most meritorious shot, a long-range feral horse with the .400 double,
and Barry nailed a young pig close enough to the track to retrieve the meat and his lads produced grilled pork entrees for everyone that evening. Very tasty!

My bag included a few horses, a young buff, and this nice boar:

If the wind direction settles down, we might consider another visit in October to tidy-up the buffalo and boars we left behind.

That is, unless someone else gets them first!
