Another hot day in the mid 30`s coming was forecast for today so I got my dogs out early for their gallop.
Went up the back for a mile at daylight and soon spotted Mr Velvet filling his guts in prep for hard antler.
I could only make up 150 yards towards them as the hind being a typical hind was in full survey mode.
The hind was lagging down slope but as the light unfolded she soon caught up with him.

Having left my heavy tripod in the ute was a piss off so I used the 7mm mag as a camera pod. That and the early light didnt help the pic quality but nonetheless an enjoyable walk.
On a cooler morn I think the V would be a good fat job for the fridge.
As soon as they got another 100 yards they were 'swallowed' by the thick as bush.
