Best value is a Tikka T3 in 7mm rem mag. Get a scope with a high end around 14x and you will be good to go. With a bit of handloading you should have a rifle capable of a 600yd shot. My personal mountain rifle is a Remington Model 7 in 7SAUM. I have gone all out to make it really light to carry. I made a carbon fibre stock for it, fluted the barrel and bolt, replaced the factory firing pin and shroud with a light weight one and had a vais-type muzzle brake made for it. I used Talley one piece rings and have a Bushnell 6500 2.5-16x42 scope on it. All up weight is 6.75lb. Ive deer out to 594yds with it. here is a video of the trip where I shot the deer at 594yds. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1oHXSzNFXY |
