Yes, Leupolds are indeed very good value and are my preferred scope also. Excellant eye relief for big bangers.
I just sent a 1-4 Leup back to the States for repair and it was returned to me, fully repaired in just on three weeks. Very good service I think! I had damaged the elevation turret badly in a fall while hunting in steep country recently.
I wouldnt say that they don't fail though, more like they rarely fail. At present I use 1-4, 2-7, 2.5-8, and 2.5 compact.
