Re: A safari is a journey + an exciting buffalo hunt

Sorry misunderstood.

I was actually concerned about bringing my head back home. Claydog thankfully took JB's and was going to boil it out, cut it for him and send it off with other trophies clients had taken elsewhere.

Mine was shot after this. The jaws removed and as much meat removed as possible.

Left in the bush near the gate as my last night was in Katherine. No time or equipment to boil out. Returned the next morning and warpped with garbage bags and duct tape. Then strapped on the back.

The very hot air and lots of wind probably helped a lot. And it never got too ripe in the four days drive home. Still not too bad as just sitting in the back yard at the moment.

Had contingency plans to stash it in the bush if needed if staying in a motel, but never needed. Had a chat to a couple of guys who stayed at the Underground Motel who parked behind me. They didn't have a problem and were obviously hunters at some time as they asked about boiling out.

Got home and the car wouldn't start the next day so ended up driving the Landcruiser into town as is, guns removed from inside and a bag or two, but otherwise the same. Feels a bit different from driving around the bush, when driving locally but why not? More should do it, as it is good advertising.

Actually looking at the Toyota emblem it looks like a stylised water buffalo skull and horns. So one day might permanently mount one on the bull bar.
