G'Day Fella's, Unfortunately John, some blokes I met up with down South of the border (in Victoria)-(Vic), had one but it was damaged during the animals recovery! By the way, thats a Magnum sized Sambar!!! Further to this, a good mate (DE) and I, went on a quick recce down to Vic last week. We were looking for some legally huntable country (for Sambar Deer), a bit closer to home. Well, we really had some luck, after we thought we had lucked out! This resulted in being introduced to a local farmer, that was most welcoming to us as Hunters. This was then followed up with even better news, when we bumped into group of very friendly and hospitable Deer Hunters from Sydney! These blokes were very helpful with advice on Where and When and also How to, in this favorite location of there's! They then invited us to come and camp on the same river flat where they were camped (DE and I had rolled our swags out beside fire trail), and to join them at their fire! As I mentioned to these blokes, after having to constantly deal with F/wits and idiots on a daily basis (to make a dollar), it was really nice to catch up and talk with some Real People! They were that good!!! So not only did we find a series of huntable and Hot locations, we also exchanged contact details. So I hope to be able to return their hospitality and assistance, some time soon! John, I'll keep an ear out for any spare capes, preferably tanned I assume! Regards Homer |
