Open sights? depends how good your eyes are, plenty of game have been shot at long range with open sights but the scope sight sure helps when the ranges are longer or light getting poor. A lighter bullet in the 9.3 would help with the longer range shots, but then if you know your rifle and load, the heavy bullet will do the job too.
Hope your 9.3 scores a few more.
I tried some 232gr Norma Oryx factory loads, but they shot very high (10+ inches at 100 yds) with the open sights. I've only shot at 100 yds so far, but I think 150 -200 yds should be do-able, just need some more practice.
I had thought about putting a scope on it, but it hasn't had one for the last 90 years so I figured it wouldn't be right to put one on now.
