While these photos aren't the usual wonderful Gryphon sambar deer photos, this is how most mortal hunters and photographers see the sambar. A bit showing in the forest and brush. That is if they get a photo off at all. ![]() I had trouble getting anything like a decent sambar photo in India in the Parks where they are supposedly not hunted. The best was a stag at several hundred metres away. Another large sambar, I think it was a stag at a few metres, upped and ran as soon as we came upon it. No photo or a blur I think it was. Did get some hinds standing still for a while. The chital herds just stood around like models on a catwalk in comparison. Though they are smart too where hunted, a lot of time anyway. Gryphon spoils us with his photos. |
