Almost forgot this big sow from the previous bomb-up, a joint effort as it turned out: ...and here's a nice one bagged later that day in a soak at the head of a paperbark swamp. He was jumped from his wallow and bolted flat-out through the marsh, spray flying. Ravo took him cleanly on the run with the first barrel from his Merkel .470, a very pretty shot to watch! There were a few more big pigs added to the bag, including another nice trophy tusker, and the last boar taken was yet another ripper! Quite decent hooks and again flattened on the run after bolting out onto the open rise from his bed in a patch of long grass on the creek flat: As I said, for a buffalo hunt, we sure got a lot of good hogs! |
