You would be surprised out of that mob how many pigs one would not shoot when it started ... we bumped into three mobs of about 100 each, 300 or more in total in the NT a few years ago. Gunning the landcruiser to get into range to start shooting we promptly drove out into the wetlands and ended up 100 metres out from solid ground, stuck to the axles. Took about three to five hours to get the vehicle out. Walked in the mud up to a kilometre away to break off paperbark trees to drag back to lay tracks to drive back out on. Pig kill result? ZERO !!!! Ha ha. Did shoot some 35 male boars over the three days though. Of course that photo is from NSW and SOLID ground! ![]() |
