I suspected it was something like that, but you mentioned meat hunting which made me wonder if there was a commercial meat market in Australia for camel meat. I was not aware that landowners might be fined for not removing feral invasive species. We would be better off on this side of the pond if that were the case here with regards to feral swine. They seem to have reached the tipping point in terms of increasing populations and geographic distribution.
