NZ backpack hunt May 13

Close to a month back I went on my first overseas hunt to NZ I spent 8 days up and down some very tough rugged terrain on the south island this was a proper back pack hunt starting at the bottom and hiking all the way to the top I managed to get the two main animals I was after both one shot kills from my Sako 300 win mag using 180gr Accubonds the Chamois was taken at 170m and the Tahr at 307m which was very close to being a vertical shot coming from Australia this was a very unfamiliar shot but I managed to pull it off I would like to give Lowa boot company a big thumbs up I bought a pair of there Tibet model boots for this trip and they performed very well if you are in the market for boots suitable for mountain hunting check them out.

1st few days in Chamois country

Tahr country close to Mount Cook
