Stags is velvet.

I stumbled across these two fellas on public land a couple of weeks ago.

I had to sit motionless for about 30 minutes before they were totally relaxed.

I'm not sure why they didn't bolt straight away which is what wild stags on public land would
normally do at a distance of 100 meters.
