Pity I didn't get to see it! I've got no problem it being removed as the member posting it requested it, nor it staying up, even though I didn't see it. Have been away working away from home for several days. I imagine it is still on youtube anyway, and that is a far more public venue than NE. Also probably on Mick's own FB pages I would guess. Sometimes I do cringe at really bloody photos, but don't think I've ever "edited" or "censored" any. Printed magazines routinely do this sort of thing, as it can impact on the sport, with the PETA sorts exposing those sorts of photos for a media stunt. Lots of non-hunting people see only the gore and being disconnected from real natural life, see cruelty etc. A foxes head exploding from a large bullet is obviously not cruel, as it is a quick death. Unlike 1080 poison which is often used by greenies against foxes and other pests (eg in National Parks and other gov't lands) and which is incredibly cruel. Also NE is a truly international forum, and people from different places have different opinions and cultures. I recently mentioned using a spotlight to kill some escaped deer and also shoot some foxes. Talking to a European hunter (no one on these forums btw) all they could fixate on was the spotlight. The deer were farm escapes not wild. And as us Aussies know, foxes are a pest here. I prefer to hunt them in daylight, but will shoot them by spotlight as well. Another German hunter, said he had no problem, do as the locals do, in different places. Just making some comments on the debate above, not taking any sides. |
