Metric madness

My good mate Steve (Viking338) came out for the weekend to see me and shoot some pigs.
He normally comes every 6 to 8 weeks but has been busy so hasn't been for awhile.

He was shooting with his CZ 7.62x39 loaded with 150 grain Speer projectiles that worked really well. He pulled of some great shots with it.

Saturday morning saw us hunting my main place with George and the 4 wheeler. We got 11 pigs before the rain drove us home to a bottle of Bourbon and some movies.

Steve shot this Black and white boar on the run.

I was using my new 6.5x47 that Tony Small built for me.
Shot through some lignum to score this one. This is an entry so it must of hit something on the way in.

Got up early this morning and went back to the same place but in my ute as it was still sticky after the rain.
We walked some sandhills and lignum and got 19 for the morning.

Saw this track. It is either a dog track or the biggest fox in the world.

Steve head shot this little boar on the run.
After exiting the projectile hit this tree in two places.

I loaded up four 120 grain Speer 120's with 38 grains of 2208 to see how they would go on pigs and to see if I could get one back.
Here is the heart after the little 120 went through it.

Here is a recovered 120 grain Speer.

Had a bit of trouble with the Fed Small rifle Mag primer cratering so went to CCI BR4's.
The top two are Fed mag primers with 37 grains of 2208 and the 123's.
The bottom two are BR4's with 38 grains of 2208 and the 120 grain Speers.

Went to another place this arvo and got 27 pigs.
Duke has now caught 287 pigs.

This was the biggest boar the dogs caught.

This is how a dog can get hurt in the timber or get away from a dog.

Nasty little tusks.

So we ended up with 57 pigs for the weekend.
