Hi Neale, Glad to see Ben noticed the GoPro camera. I didn't see it till I looked for it. By coincidence I looked at the GoPro's three weeks ago, just on the net. And two times have tried to get some answers out of them. With no answer on their facebook page, and couldn't find an email address on their website. Lots of flash and marketing, films etc but not the facts. But maybe you can answer from your direct experience. Questions: 1. Does the GoPro have a optical zoom capacity? Most films seem to be normal 1x views, as in running, skydiving, surfing, etc 2. How does the GoPro work in terms of longer video filming? Again all their promotional films and reall quick and 'jerky', lots of exciting 1 to 3 seconds clips all edited together. I was told a lot of these digital cameras have trouble filming for more than a maximum of say 2 1/2 minutes at the time. 3. Do you have the remote control back to the camera? It isn't supposed to be available in Australia yet. 4. Seeing you've got it on a scope, how does it handle rifle recoil. I was thinking of taking home to Norway and Sweden? These Go Pro's are everywhere all of a sudden, have seen them on current affair TV shows, used on platforms underwater, and numerous other shows. Most negative user reviews have been on them used for scuba diving. From my reading of reviews, pretty much 100% negative reports for scuba. But for other use quite good reviews. 5. They sell quite cheaply. They look like quite a basic camera, but supposedly in a rugged housing. What is your general opinion and experience with them? Thanks. Could have asked you on the phone tonight, but didn't see the gopro use before on this thread. |
