Paul I like 2 things about the flag safety 1st I find it a natural action to push the gun from the 2nd safe position at 12 o'clock to fire with my thumb as I bring the rifle up to my shoulder and 2nd when the safety is at 12 o'clock it blocks the open sights letting you know its on before you try to take a shot.
