It all stared with a 7-day hunt with 3 mates from tassie with seeing two stags in the first 4 days which out smarted us all. We went on an afternoon hunt a short drive down the road to a nice spot. After a hard walk up and down the hills which are a lot bigger then the ones in tassie. I got back to the 4x4 quit stuffed leaving my pack at the Ute I walked up the track to wait form my mates to come back up the hill. As I looked around for a nice rock to sit on and wait I looked up and seen a stag coming strait at me Kneeling down I waited for him to come out from the trees just then I felt the wind hit the back of my neck he stopped dead. As I raised the Remington and sending the 235-gr projectile the short 30 meters hitting in the neck. He broke from the trees running side on the second shot hitting the spin. With some good hand shakes and all the pic taken and a short drag with the 4x4 up to the track he was in the Ute All up two nice eating does nice stag two foxes and a great week with my mates I will not forget. Being at the right place at the right time is all ways good bit of luck. |
