Strange! I was watching a documentary on on what was causing Croc attacks around Darwin. Seems the big old boys beat up the yonger males who then move out looking for their own territory and move into close settled areas.
From what I gather if you get rid of the dominante male the younger ones move about outside their territory less.
That's why effective management of the whole population needs to be done if the trophy crocs are taken. The younger females and males need to be thinned out as well. Just like with deer or any game species.
John, to me that is how management of any wild animal should be done.
From reading the aborigina; use to hunt crocs, but it would of only been the small to mid size that they would of taken, seeing as they were on bark rafts or dugout canoes.
