I have 75gr. Hornady HP's loaded for my .25/06 at about 3,650fps, not max but moving OK just the same. I'm quite happy with just under 1/2" now - factory light-weight Savage cheap stainless Axis. Now would be nice to head shoot some pigs with them, or roos, but was planning on smacking some wolves instead.

It is nice to feel a little bump on the shoulder when you pull the trigger and see that the group has not gotten any larger. 
One of the boars last night was about 140 yards away and wouldn't look at the light and kept trotting. My mate beeped the horn, he propped and he showed me about 2" of his neck and that's where the 70 grain TNT hit.
