No starlings around here at the moment.
I remember my best ever result was about 14 for one shot, a .410 side by side ... of course, they were sitting on a branch in a tall gum. The only way to get the numbers is to listen carefully and counts the thuds.
Never got anywhere near as many with the 12-gauge.

But those aren't starlings, they are the rare Australian native species, the spotted native black bird, said to be good eating if we were allowed to shoot them .....
Ha ha, only joking, just pest introduced starlings.
Now I was reading on the net, that they are considered a delicacy in Italy and/or Spain?
Anyone tried eating one?
