I agree, Matt, about that Stag, however a cousin of mine shot a 40 something point non-typical whitetail deer on their Sask. ranch in the 50's. It was wild, of course. You could throw a hat at it from any spot in the room and it would stick. This dear was definitely a mutation, however it was not manipulated by man. Just wasn't done at that time. It still happens, in nature. Just check the book on non-typicals. Some locations are suspect for game farms where feed and genetics are manipulated with, but others are not. Every now and then, we get some pretty strange moose racks, but not often. |
