Looks pretty good to me for a fairly high impact speed. Most bonded bullets have very soft cores, vertually pure lead because it bonds better with the techniques used comercially. Thus, while they don't frag, they do just keep balling up and expanding back as long as their SD keeps they moving. Looks to have turned sideways at the last, whihc is normal for such a wide expansion and short shank left.

As to making your own bonded bullets, I had better luck with WW alloy, which, of course is way too stiff for an expanding bullet - but talk about penetration - WOW!

Damn good round, that .338/06 - another round I've not had myself - yet.

I often wondered why, even today, the .338/06 is loaded to 65,000psi (SAAMI) and the .35 Whelen, same brass, is held to about 58,000PSI CIP. I think it's even lower in the States, but do not have the SAAMI on the Remington round.
