Right about now the carp in the Murray River swamps are spawning or whatever it is called or doing.

Masses of fish many dozens churning around in a metre radius circle.

Remember many years ago going out to check out a duck swamp, Katarapko, now turned into some sort of BS National Park, instead of a duck swamp, with the carp doing this. In January or Feb. We tried to spear fish them using an axe handle with a knife taped to it. Killed the fish, but failed to hook them so they flopped off into the muddy water. Couldn't miss when they were so thick churning around like that. We were probably seventeen at the time.

BTW anyone know what the carp were doing?
