Thank God someone had a firearm, and wasn't afraid to use it on a "protected species" in a National Park. No wonder the shooter hasn't been named. Hope he doesn't wind up being charged with firearms and wildlife offences!!

In many parts of Northern Australia, a firearm is still considered a mandatory item of safety equipment. A National Park boundary makes no difference to the inherent risks of operating in remote wilderness.
