Great photos of some fox cubs. Being a farmer whose family used to have chickens, turkeys and lambs, I rarely would have taken photos, but reach for a shotgun or rifle instead. Since we don't have any of those farm stock anymore, foxes instead of a nightly visitor now are encountered only monthly perhaps. Though no doubt are there somewhere most nights. Later in the season, they used to like the ripening grape berries and could often be found in the vineyards. Especially if any grapes were left hanging. Probably a good place to look in autumn now with grapes often unpicked. I know our European members have a great difference in opinion and culture and regard foxes are great hunting trophies, hunting them sportingly. I used to have a favourite hunting place, where an old cottage was abandoned and near it fallen pine trees hid a fox warren where in Spring cubs could often be sighted. Later young stupid foxes shot easier near there as well. Had some good and productive ponds in the creek for ducks as well. But now the house has been re-occupied again the wildlife is mostly gone and definitely no shooting. Great photos of the cubs. I really enjoyed them. |
